Kester Black is more than just a nail polish company.

We’re a group of creatives with pretty substantial values. We believe it’s important to give back, so from now on $1 from every online order is donated to the outstanding charities listed below.

Don’t worry, we haven’t bumped-up our prices, all donations made come directly from our profit and go straight into the hands of your chosen organisation. We’ve spent hours researching hundreds of charities, and believe that these four are truly exceptional. Every dollar makes a difference, so we’ll pass yours on.

Animals Asia

Animals Asia promotes compassion and respect for all animals and works to bring about long-term change. They work to end the barbaric bear bile trade, which sees over 11,000 bears caged and used for Bile extraction throughout China and Vietnam.

Animals Asia has rescued over 500 bears, caring for and rehabilitating them as much as possible at their award-winning bear sanctuaries across the continent.

The organisation also works to end the dog and cat meat trade, and lobbies to improve the welfare of companion animals in general.

In addition, Animals Asia campaigns for an end to abusive animal practices in zoos and safari parks in Asia, and works closely with governing authorities to improve animal management and increase awareness of the welfare needs of captive animals.

Bush Heritage Australia

Bush Heritage is a non-profit conservation organisation dedicated to protecting Australia’s unique animals, plants and their habitats.

Based on reports of Australia having the worst rate of mammal extinction of any developed country, Bush Heritage works toward changing this through conservation and bushland maintenance.

Enabled by the generosity of their supporters, Bush Heritage own and manage private conservation reserves throughout Australia, covering around a million hectares.

Their reserves are managed in a similar way to National Parks – the land is legally protected, with the intention of safeguarding it forever.

They also build partnerships with other landowners to support conservation management on the properties. Through these innovative conservation partnerships, along with the more than 35 reserves that they directly own, they’re now protecting more than 6 million hectares of the most ecologically important and threatened landscapes across Australia.

Water Aid

Without safe water or sanitation, people are trapped in a cycle of poverty and disease. Across the developing world, millions of women are wasting precious time collecting dirty water, children are dying from preventable diarrhoeal diseases, and communities have open sewers running through them.

Water Aid works with local partners to help communities access safe water and sanitation. And they use their experience and research to influence decision-makers to do more to provide these vital services.

They only use practical technologies and make sure the right skills exist in the community so they can keep them working long into the future.

By working with local partners Water Aid is able to invest in the future of local communities so that they can continue the good work. This is an essential part of their work as they believe it is the most progressive and sustainable approach.
